Hi
Paintings and Jewellery sitting side by side. Landscapes, trees & water - blues, turquoise, pink & yellow highlights. Malachite, turquoise, Apatite, labradorite, tourmaline, stones that shimmer iridescent. My passion for both mediums is constantly evolving, but the importance of colour, form and texture remain consistent in both.

All About Me
I'm a fashion designer turned artist and jewellery maker, now living in the beautiful South West of England with my husband and 3 dogs!
My passion for gem stones stem from my love of the coast inspired from growing up on the Kent coast between Whitstable and St Margaret's Bay, hunting in rock pools for unusual stones and smooth coloured glass fragments and long walks along cliff tops looking down to the sea below with textured patterns of rock formations. Its was these early visual experiences that influence in particular my jewellery today. I chose stones that resemble nature, sea scapes and, land mass, similar to islands and sea viewed from the sky above.
My mother was a talented painter and my passion for painting is because of her. I have painted all my life and whilst painting and jewellery making are two quite different creative mediums, I approach them with similar context.
I find stones that look like miniature paintings of sea, islands and sky and then frame them in rings & silver, always following their natural shape . Necklaces are finished with matching & complimentary beads of the same gemstones, mostly choker length or just on the chest.
My paintings follow a similar route. I begin with a scene and break it down into colours & shapes. A boulder opal will be blues and greens but will have irresdescent flashes of orange, light & shade play a strategic part in my paintings. The shape & form of tree branches resemble inclusions (photoatas) in gemstones like copper tortoise.
My website is my portifolio and I do hope you find my work interesting and inspirational. Each item of work is for sale, is a one off and therefore totally unique. If you would like to buy an item but would like to discuss it first please feel free to either email me or call. I also sell at craft fairs and some specialist art galleries in Bath, Frome and Bristol, so please do keep an eye on my social media for upcoming events.

Thanks
Nicky
